Get Set by IOC offers an innovative platform that optimizes training regimens with personalized insights and performance tracking, making it an essential tool for both amateur and professional athletes.
Injuries are a common occurrence in various sports and can have a significant impact on an athlete's career. However, preventive measures exist. Numerous scientific studies have demonstrated that structured warm-up exercises can reduce the risk of injuries by over 50%!
Get Set – Train smarter was developed in conjunction with the 2014 and 2016 Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, China, and Lillehammer, Norway. It is the result of collaboration between the International Olympic Committee, the Oslo Sports Trauma Research Center, various Norwegian and international sports federations, and Making Waves AS.
The intended audience includes not only young talents and their coaches but also individuals engaged in physical activity. Get Set – Train smarter aims to prevent sports injuries by offering effective and evidence-based workout routines tailored to individual needs.
All exercises are demonstrated through videos with accompanying concise instructions on proper execution. The exercises come with variations and three levels of difficulty to provide challenge as progress is made. The exercises in Get Set are designed to be performed with minimal equipment, ensuring safety and ease of implementation anywhere.
Users can navigate through 40 summer sports and 15 winter sports to find specific injury prevention exercises tailored to each sport's unique injury profile. Additionally, exercises targeting common problem areas like the shoulder, back, groin, hamstring, knee, and ankle can be found under "Body."
Exercise programs can be downloaded as PDF files containing images and brief descriptions for easier recollection. These files can be printed or shared electronically with teammates, coaches, friends, and family.
Get Set is accessible on iOS and Android platforms in nine languages: English, French, Spanish, Russian, German, Norwegian, Chinese, Korean, and Finnish. The app is available at no cost.
Upon initial viewing of an exercise, the app will download the corresponding video to the device. We recommend using a Wi-Fi connection to avoid extra charges. Once downloaded, the exercise videos remain stored on the device for convenient access anytime and anywhere.
